Welcome to “This Month in Sky”, where we share Sky news, community activities, and creations from Sky kids around the world.
The year is coming to an end, but Sky has more fun moments in store before we turn to celebrating the new year!

Sky News
Update 31.5
As mentioned in our last edition of This Month in Sky, Patch 31.5 is out today! If you haven’t seen it yet, you can find our update video here: https://bit.ly/TMiSUpdateVideo315
This month, Patch Chan brings updates to the dye shop, Shared Spaces, and a couple of new Daily Quests! You may also notice that some changes have been made when you first open Sky – the Message of the Day screen has been removed to make initial loading faster and smoother for players. But don’t worry, you can still find all sorts of information about Sky on the in-game news board, social media posts, and blogs like This Month in Sky.
Radiance Event
Whether you’re preparing some pastels to match this year’s Days of Feast cosmetics, or simply looking for more options for your favorite fit, get ready for another Radiance Event! This time, there’s an increased chance to find white, blue, and red light while you explore from December 2nd through 11th.
Days of Feast
Put on your mittens and get ready for frozen fun during Days of Feast! Starting December 12th, team up with friends in the Village of Dreams to take out targets with snowballs and build your very own snowkid in the Shared Space Shrine.
Double Light and Heart Event
From December 31st through January 15th, Sky shines bright with double the number of Treasure Candle clusters to collect Light from, and doubled Heart gifts for everyone to enjoy.
Happy New Year!
To celebrate the entry into 2026, a special fireworks show will be held in Aviary Village and Home starting on December 31st at 2:00am PST (the earliest New Year, 00:00 in Kiribati), and repeating every hour until 4:00am PST on January 1st (the latest New Year, 00:00 on Howland Island).
Traveling Spirits
Two Traveling Spirits will drop by for a visit this month, plus one more Traveling Spirit before our January edition of This Month in Sky comes out. Follow us on social media for hints and reveals before their arrivals!

Community Announcements
Discord Playsessions
On December 17th, Tethys and Stellify are hosting another festival tech Eden Run – Holiday Edition! Dress up in your festive best or brave the storm as a reindeer, krampus, or even the Season of Belonging Guide, and join us for another fun trip through Eden together.
We’ll host a Discord stage session during this event, for those who’d like to join us and chat or make new friends with other Sky kids. Keep an eye on the Discord Events tab for more information.
Holiday: Limited Availability
The holiday season is upon us in the United States, and portions of thatgamecompany staff will have limited availability from December 22nd through January 4th in order to spend time with loved ones. This means that the January Edition of This Month in Sky won’t be published until the week of January 5th.
For urgent issues or safety reports, please continue to contact Player Support through the usual in-game menu option or by using the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of this blog.
